If learners need to repeat a completed course and are prevented from starting a new training session until the training interval period has ended, use the Start new session option.

This option is used if an incident has occurred in the workplace which suggests that the learner needs to refresh their training.

Note: The users' previous training sessions and results for this course will be archived and a new training session started. The users will have to complete the whole course again.

A step-by-step guide (text)

1. Click the Reports tab on the menu bar at the top of the page to show the Course reports page.
2. Click on the "Completed" tab
3. Find the learners by filtering, for more information see How to use filtering to find a course report.
4. The Action bar shows the total number of users selected and the Actions box. Click on the arrow on the Actions box to show the menu.
5. Select Start a new session.
6. To send a training renewal reminder email to the learner, select the Also send these users a ‘training renewal reminder email’ box.
7. Click Ok Start a new session for selected users.

1. Can I start a new session for one user only?

2. What happens with previously earned certificates?

The previously earned certificate is not deleted, it still can be found under the user's profile. However, it's status changes to "historic".

3. Does starting a new session before the training period ends use additional credits? 

If you are on a Unified Credit Model, then yes—starting a new training session will use additional credits. However, if you are on a User-based package, users can retake the course an unlimited number of times within the contract period without using additional credits.
