How to lock/unlock new sessions during a training interval

Modified on Mon, 23 Dec, 2024 at 4:54 PM

The New Sessions setting determines whether learners can restart a training course during the Training Interval period. For more details about the Training Interval setting, refer to How to set the course Training Interval.

  • When the New Sessions setting is enabled:
The training course remains locked until 30 days before the certificate's expiry date. At that time, the course status changes to "Expiring Soon," the course is unlocked, and the learner is notified via email that they can choose to restart their training.

  • When the New Sessions setting is disabled:
The training course is unlocked, allowing learners to restart it at any time during the Training Interval. This means learners can decide on their own to retake the course and earn a new certificate. Each time a learner restarts the training, a credit is deducted from your account, and their previous certificate is archived.

This is a global course setting.

Note: Learners can 'review' course content for up to 7 days after completing it without having to start a new training session.

To change the New sessions setting:

  1. Click the Settings tab in the side menu or the ⚙ Settings icon in the top-right corner.
  2. In the GENERAL section click Global settings.
  3. In the TRAINING section find New sessions and choose to lock or unlock:
    • To lock learners from starting new sessions, select the check box.
    • To unlock learners to start new sessions, clear the check box.
  4. Click Save changes.
