How to change administrator user type

In order to change administrator rights, their user type needs to be updated. This can be made at any time.


NB: Only an administrator with Training Service Owner rights can assign/change/remove administrator rights of other users

  1. Click Users on the side menu pane to show the Users page.
  2. Find the user and click the ellipsis button (...)  icon in the Actions column to show the menu.
  3. Select View/Edit User Details.
  4. Scroll down to find Access rights.
  5. Remove access rights by clicking the X next to the name. Add access rights by selecting from the list. To learn more, see What are Administrator access types?
  6. If you use organisational segments, you can create a segment administrator by assigning a segment to the user. Click the arrow to show the list and select a segment.
  7. Click Save details.


NB: When a user's profile is updated, they must log out and log back in for the changes to their access rights to take effect.

1. Can a user have different administrator rights for various segments?

No, currently one user can be have administrator rights for one segment only.


2. Can I assign one administrator to several segments?

No, currently this is impossible. One administrator can manage one segment. 


3. Can I assign Training Service Owner rights to multiple people?

No, Training Service Owner rights can belong only to ONE person. If you want to switch those rights from one user to another completely, please refer to this guide: How to transfer Training Service Owner rights to another user.


4. Can I assign several administrators with the same access right to one segment?

Yes, there is no limit to how many administrators can be assigned to one segment.


5. How long does it take for changes to access rights to be applied?

Changes to administrator access rights are applied immediately. However, for the user must log out and log back in after their profile has been updated to see the changes. 


6. What happens if I choose several administrator types for a user?

Although the system allows you to select multiple administrator profiles for a user only the one with the highest capabilities will actually take effect and the others will just be ignored.
