How to change administrator access type

In Atlas profiles are used to manage what a user can do in the system.

Access type defines the tasks an administrator can do. For detailed information on access types see
 Administrator access types.

Note Segment administrators cannot change global administrator access.

For the iHasco eLearning service we have the following profiles that can be assigned:

  • Learner: Enables a user to take any assigned iHasco eLearning training or iHasco assessments and view their own training history & certificates.
  • Training Reporter: Enables a user to view and report on enrolments for all users (or those in a particular segment if restricted), take any assigned iHasco eLearning training or iHasco assessments and view their own training history & certificates.
  • Training Coordinator: Enables a user to manage the accounts and enrolments for all users (or those in a particular segment if restricted), take any assigned iHasco eLearning training or iHasco assessments and view their own training history & certificates.
  • Training Administrator: Enables a user to manage the user accounts and enrolments for all users (or those in a particular segment if restricted), manage iHasco eLearning settings, access Insights, take any assigned iHasco eLearning training or iHasco assessments, and view their own training history & certificates.
  • Training Service Owner: Provides complete access to elements on the platform including viewing users and results, add/update users, send emails and modify settings.

All profiles barring the Learner profile are administrator level profiles with different capabilities ranging from Training Reporter to a Training Service Owner.

Note Although the system allows you to select multiple iHasco profiles for a user only the one with the highest capabilities will actually take effect and the others will just be ignored.

Note Only one user in an organisation can be a Training Service Owner and only they can reassign this profile to another user in the organisation.

Profiles are assigned to new users within the Access Rights field of the 'Add a User' page or updated for existing users in their 'User Details' page. You can change this from one administrator profile to another or even remove administrator access right by changing them to a learner.

To change an administrator’s access type:

1.    Click Users on the side menu pane to show the Users page.

2.    Find the user and click the menu icon in the Actions column to show the menu.

3.    Select View/Edit User Details.

4.    Scroll down to find Access rights.

5.    Remove access rights by clicking the X next to the name. Add access rights by selecting from the list. To learn more, see Administrator access types.

7.    If you use organisational segments, you can create a segment administrator by assigning a segment to the user. Click the arrow to show the list and select a segment.

8.    Click Save details.

The user’s administrator access is applied immediately.

When the profile for a user is changed, the updated user must log out and back in for the access rights changes to take effect.
